Project lead:&nbsp; Xavier Perrenoud &amp; Luca Nichetto Date:&nbsp; February 2023 Hermès&nbsp;&nbsp;Balance as astonishment The project translates ballet dancers silhouettes, in its perfect balance, into playful geometric shapes of sculptures. Hermes items will be integrated into these human-like sculptures in a playful manner, which also draw the attention from viewers to question «How are these objects remaining balance?». This is astonishing.The choice of materials is raw cardboard, both for the sculptures and the background. This adds another aspect of the balance between human and nature, the body and its enviroment, in which relationship we need to define and orient ourselves. I used fusion360 to slide the objects and digital cut parts, build multiple objects, adding copper bars to support the balance and gives material contrast. The serving tray was inspired by the classic shape of a seashell. Our weaving technique of choice is influenced by the simplicity of the Vortex bamboo basket by Yamaguchi Ryuun. The simplified weaving offers a breath of harmony as if the object is living, breathing, and conversational. The set includes a champagne bucket inspired by coral shapes. It follows a similar simplistic weaving choice. Diamond shape of Platinum Rare collection Client: la prairieType: Upcycling design&nbsp;Project lead:&nbsp;Tomás KralDate:&nbsp; April 2023 la prairie&nbsp;The Hope Diamond set&nbsp; Upcycling brush holders and vases inspired by the diamond shape of La Prairie Platinum Rare collection. The holder focused in its fuctions to hold La Prairie unique brushes for make up, made into two level to hold as well the beautiful spoons accompanied its products. The set consists of four designs with geometric shapes inspired by Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann vases from 1899 and the Bauhaus designer Gunta Stölzl patterns. Taken into consideration a minimum manufacturing cost to re-cut the blue caviar jars, simple cut steel sheets to support the structure. This project comprises both Artek Tokyo branding &amp; its showroom design. I sketched “Tokyo” with Japanese baamboo brush and Chinesee black ink. All minimalistic elements for Artek Tokyo identity was inspired by Aalto classic stool, the red sun in Japan flag and a dragonfly which Samurai use it as a symbol of power, agility and best of all, victory. ‘kachimushi’ Multi poles will be placed randomly inside the showroom, to imitate the concept of Baamboo forest. However, those poles will be made by birch instead of baamboo. There are two ideas behind this: firstly, birch in a shape and concept of a baamboo forest represent the connection between Asian and Western cultures, the connection between Artek, Alto’s design and Asian traditional design. Second, the parallel wall of poles capture the charm of a baamboo forest. The spaces created between those vertically straight lines have an effect on passerby that atract them to walk into. This concept connotes a great harmony of Asian and Western design’s culture. Two distinct material Baamboo and birch represent the love for nature of both world. The usage of birch in a shape of baamboo indicate close connections cross-culturally, how Artek fits itself into the local context, how well Artek understand its customer values. On top of that, all the materials have low-manufature costs, low transportation costs.
